M.E.N SUPPORT OUR FUNDRAISER

"Emmerdale star and town's footballers back fundraiser appeal for Stepping Hill Hospital"

A fundraising appeal set up in aid of Stepping Hill Hospital has raised almost £3,000 in a matter of days. Sports coach Matt Quigley, who lives close to the hospital, set up the appeal to thank staff for all they are doing during the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, Stockport County FC captain Paul Turnbull, County player Sam Walker and Emmerdale actor Danny Miller have all filmed messages urging people to support the appeal. Matt's business, UK Sports Coaching Ltd, is also donating £500 to the fundraiser, which goes directly to Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Matt said: "I live on the doorstep of Stepping Hill, it's given a lot over the years and I wanted to show my gratitude. "The support has been absolutely overwhelming, I did not think we would get this far but it keeps creeping up. "We're just going to keep it going over time, it all goes straight to the foundation."
